British boxer Anthony Joshua Released from Medical Facility in Lagos Following Tragic Road Accident

Olympic gold medalist Anthony Joshua has left the medical facility, Nigerian authorities announced on Wednesday night. The fighter was caught in a vehicular crash near Lagos on Monday, a devastating event that resulted in the deaths of two of his close associates.

Under Observation for Minor Injuries

The boxer had been receiving medical attention while healing from his light wounds, representatives stated earlier on Monday. A government official, Gbenga Omotoso, confirmed in an update on X that Joshua was declared medically stable to leave and heal privately.

β€œThe boxer and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to say their last goodbyes to his two departed friends as they were being readied to be sent home,” the commissioner stated.

A Tribute to the Fallen

The victims of the crash were identified as Latif Ayodele, Joshua's trainer, and Sina Ghami, a performance coach. Omotoso added that the boxer was β€œheavy-hearted and full of emotions over the tragic loss of his two close friends.”

His release from the hospital comes as the boxing community had expressed its support for the fighter in the following the terrible crash.
