FC Barcelona to Host First Game at Upgraded Camp Nou on Saturday

The club confirmed they will play at the still-under-construction Camp Nou on Saturday. The club will host Athletic Bilbao in the Spanish league 30 months following their departure for construction to commence.

“We envisioned this comeback. The moment has arrived. Home again at Spotify Camp Nou.”

Not all seats will be available with 45,401 fans will be allowed to watch as per the current authorization. Once fully finished, it will accommodate close to 105,000 fans, increasing from the former 99,000. The club said completed upgrades featured a renovated tunnel for players along with upgraded changing facilities.

Preparatory Events

Barcelona held a public practice on the home pitch on 7 November. The club said approval is being pursued from Uefa for their upcoming Champions League fixture against Eintracht Frankfurt in December at the stadium. Their recent games have been held at the Olympic Stadium.
