The Pop Star Plays a Dark Alter Ego of Herself in Mockumentary First Look
The Grammy-winning artist is gearing up for a major cinematic presence in 2026, starting with the mockumentary titled The Moment.
Within the project, she plays what she calls as a twisted version of herself.
It’s the most authentic portrayal of the music business that I’ve ever witnessed, the star commented.
She elaborated in a discussion: It’s not a tour documentary, but the idea originated from the pressure to create one.
A Glimpse into The Moment
The first teaser, launched on this week, mixes authentic footage from Charli’s Sweat tour with imagined behind-the-scenes moments.
The mockumentary is directed and co-written by her collaborator, who shared that the story revolves around a scenario where Charli opted for alternate decisions in the publicity of her smash hit album Brat.

The film is just one of many upcoming screen roles for Charli, who has featured in three independent movies recently.

What’s Next
Next year will also include Charli alongside Olivia Wilde in erotic drama I Want Your Sex, Natalie Portman in creative industry mystery The Gallerist, and Barbie Ferreira in horror remake Faces of Death.
She recently signed on to appear in the star’s first film as director A Tree in Blue.
I am really enjoying my cinematic path, Charli shared. I feel very, very inspired right now in acting, and I always want to do projects that excite me.
Score Contributions
The month of February will also bring the debut of Emerald Fennell’s interpretation of Wuthering Heights, which will showcase original songs from Charli.
She is also set to compose the score for the story Mother Mary, starring Anne Hathaway and Michaela Coel, set to be released soon.
The Moment is set to premiere on the 30th of January.
